Exfoliation is a valuable treatment in skincare for unclogging pores, removing dull, dead skin cells and deep cleansing the skin. However, scrubbing your face like it's the kitchen floor is not ideal. Your facial skin is tender and easily abraded, and physical exfoliants can often be too aggressive, leaving micro-tears in the skin. This preservative-free, powdered Vitamin C skin treatment has powdered organic herbs and grains, clays, fruit enzymes and more to gently sweep over skin and loosen debris without damage to skin. The acids, enzymes and fiber work hard for you so you don't have to treat your skin like a scullery maid with a soup pot.
Many exfoliants perform just one function, but not ours. Glow is versatile and counteracts the appearance of irritation while it works. Organic Oat flour creates a soothing, Beta-glucan rich base for the rest of our very active ingredients. Organic Astagalus root joins it to improve the appearance of inflammation. We know most of our customers have at least moderately sensitive skin and took that into consideration when designing this recipe.
Powdered Organic Coconut water adds Vitamin C and a range of balancing minerals. Just like it hydrates your insides it performs the same for your skin when applied topically. Coconut water also contains Kinetin, a substance that can improve the look of even coloration in skin and decrease the appearance of wrinkling. These properties make coconut water a valuable skin saver!
Papain and 8% Vitamin C star as the really powerful exfoliating agents. Papain is an enzyme from Papaya that breaks down proteins. It gently works on dead skin cells in synergy with Vitamin C, which as an acid loosens the "glue" that holds the Stratum Corneum layer of skin cells together, allowing them to lift away easily. The level of Vitamin C in this powder is a potent contributor to the appearance of skin brightness, firmness, and decreases the look of fine lines.
Green Coffee extract adds a shot of tightening caffeine for skin and further antioxidants, and Panax Ginseng extract, standardized for Ginsenoside helps create an energized appearance. Bentonite clay pulls toxins out of the skin like a magnet, and a range of antioxidant-rich herbs such as Organic Olive Leaf and Turmeric boost Glow's youth promoting offerings. Our diverse recipe is an ode to nearly all parts of plants, and the total recipe creates the look of youthful, well-maintained skin when used routinely. Directions
Remove makeup and moisten the skin. Place 1/2 tsp of powder in your palm. Wet it and mix with fingers to create a paste. Apply to damp skin alone or mix into your facial cleanser. Massage the powder into the skin for at least 2 to 3 minutes with gentle pressure, avoiding the eye area. When the paste begins to dry remove it with warm water and gently pat dry. Moisturize to finish the skin. Optimal usage of 2 to 3 times per week.
This product is very active and should not be used as a daily cleanser, or irritation may result. For many people with normal skin type once per week may be adequate. More frequent usage would be for individuals with skin that is sluggish and congested, hyperpigmented, or mature with fine lines to assist with rejuvenating these specific issues.
While this product is excellent for congested skin and blackheads we do not recommend it be used on cystic acne or broken skin due to the possibility of further irritation.
This product has no added scent and will smell slightly earthy/oaty/herbaceous when dry and a little stronger when wet. We chose to add no scents so the product would be the most applicable for different skin types, including allergy-prone skin. If you prefer a different scent we highly recommend combining this exfoliation treatment with your liquid cleanser. It will blend well with any cream or gel cleanser and the scent of the liquid cleanser will obscure the aroma of the scrub. Fresh and Free both work extremely well to suspend this product and completely cover any earthy aroma it has.
Please note: the turmeric content in this blend may stain washcloths. Rinsing with simply hands and water will remove the product adequately from skin and avoid damage to linens.
